US stocks lower after gains on Wednesday
The S&P 500 closed yesterday at the highest level since August 20 but was unable to climb above the 2000 level and that has caused some modest worries.
The index is currently down 4.4 points to 1991.
At the moment, this looks like a small retracement in strong swing higher but it could turn into a broader consolidation trade if 2000/2020 doesn't break in the next few days.
On the downside, there is plenty of room before anything significant technically. Yesterday's low of 1976 is one zone to watch.
