Major indices open higher

The US stock markets are open and the major indices are up.

  • The S&P is up 6.6 points or 0.25%
  • The Nasdaq is up 16 points or 0.21%

Although higher, the levels are lower than pre-market implied openings from the futures. At the start of the NY session today, the S&P was up about 8 points, the Nasdaq was up 19 points and the Dow was up 143 points.

So you can argue, the momentum may be fading.
