Will work with some opposition parties to appoint a new BOJ governor. Shirakawa retires in April and Abe has run on appointing a much more aggressive banker to replace the cautious outgoing BOJ head.
An appointment to replace Shirakawa is expected by mid-February, Japan’s Jiji wire reports.
