I know there has been a lot written in the media making the recipients of AIG bonuses out to be the worst people on the face of the earth, but here are two articles, one of which is a resignation letter from someone at AIG, the other is a smaller summary, but i strongly suggest you take the time to read the full text of the letter.

Maybe we should not believe all the HYPE that the US government keeps pumping out to take the focus off the fact that it and its lack of regulation are responsible for the mess we are in. First the US Govt drummed up public hysteria by focussing on the limiting of compensation to all those evil fat cat banking executives (nothing but a media spin exercise to take the focus off the US Govt) and luckily after that died down it had the AIG bonuses to aim the media spotlight at. I mean how can you believe a Presdient who states the US is the strongest economy and political system in the world? I am all for the half full approach but that is bordering on delusional!

How about we also ask Mr Greenspan to repay all the money he was paid whilst working for the US Govt seeing as how he sits comfortably on top of the list of those to blame and he did a bad job so why should he be allowed to have benefited from such poor work??
