NAB, ANZ on "Australian business conditions plunged in December"

Earlier today we got the

• Australia NAB Dec. business confidence 3 (prior 3) and business conditions 2 (prior 11)

AUD response was lower:

• AUD down on very poor business survey results in Australia

A couple of in brief analyst comments:

NAB

• very disappointing NAB business survey
• Wages, price measures also softer
• prices weakest outcome in a year

ANZ:

• business conditions plunged in December
• We are reluctant to read too much into one survey, but this lines up with other indicators pointing to a sharp loss of momentum late last year
