Afternoon all,
Asian stockmarkets are mixed today, with many stocks thinly traded. In Sydney the ASX200 is up 0.4%, the Nikkei up 0.6% and the Kospi lower by 0.1%. Resource stocks are supporting the ASX200, BHP is up 1.8% and NCM up 2.1%. Qantas also rose on the back of positive first half guidance, up 4%.
In Japan, positive November trade data was helping sentiment. Oil stocks and trading houses are the best performers, with Japan Exploration up 2.2%, Mitsui & Co. up 1.2% and Inpex up 1.6%.However with most investors sitting on the sidelines, trading volumes are very low.
