The 4Q GDP was released on Friday at 2.6%
The Atlanta Fed is moving on to the 1Q GDP estimate for the GDP after Friday's US 4Q GDP was released at 2.6%. The Atlanta Fed model estimated 3.4%.
So what do they forecast for the 1Q so far?
In their own words:
"The initial GDPNow model forecast for real GDP growth (seasonally adjusted annual rate) in the first quarter of 2018 is 4.2 percent on January 29. The advance estimate of fourth-quarter real GDP growth released by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis on January 26 was 2.6 percent, 0.8 percentage points below the final GDPNow model nowcast released on the previous day."
The next estimate will be released on Thursday, February 1
It is early, so the number will evolve, but the quarter is off to a good start.
