MPs vote on contempt of parliament motion

311-293 was the vote.

This is seen as a preview of May's December 11 Brexit deal vote.

This is the motion:

"That this House finds ministers in contempt for their failure to comply with the requirements of the motion for return passed on 13 November 2018, to publish the final and full legal advice provided by the attorney general to the cabinet concerning the EU withdrawal agreement and the framework for the future relationship, and orders its immediate publication."

The government must now publish the attorney general's legal advice on Brexit in full. The government said it will do so.

Cable is at the lows of the day but the selling has been modest. The implication is that May doesn't have a de-facto majority. It's seen as a preview of the Brexit vote but it's more of a soft preview because the stakes are certainly higher in the Dec 11 vote.

Some big levels are in play. Cable broke 1.2700 to the lowest since August. The August low of 1.2662 is an 18-month low.
