Says that:

"I'm told there have been conversations between Brussels and EU capitals, and between EU and UK officials. i.e. everyone is in the loop. However, I am also told by senior European gov't officials that not all leaders are (yet) on board with the idea of a long flexible extension"

I reckon there's no doubt Germany would get on board with that and eventually any dissenters will cave in to the request too. The caveat to any Brexit extension is that the EU27 will have to make a unanimous decision on the matter. That means all it takes is one member state to dissent in order to block it, but this is a scenario where realpolitik is expected to prevail once again so it's tough to imagine any upsets.
