Bundesbank publishes its monthly report

  • But economy is to stay on a 'sound' path
  • Household consumption continues to drive the expansion
  • Weak factory orders among the key drivers for slower Q3 growth
  • Trade conflict has not been main driver of declining manufacturing sentiment
  • But disputes could place a considerable strain on global economic growth

Doesn't paint a very rosy picture, no? Robust domestic demand continues to be the sole reason why the German economy isn't worse than where it is now and they will continue to hope it that the backbone doesn't start to break considering how weak trade and exports demand have been in recent months.

Bundesbank chief Jens Weidmann will be on the wires later in the day at 1800 GMT.
