Caterpillar machine sales down outside Asia
The three-month rolling sales numbers from Caterpillar underscore just how far investment in mining, infrastructure and energy has fallen.
- North America -21%
- World -17% (vs -19% in July quarter)
- Asia-Pacific +2%
- Latin America -35%
- Europe, Africa Middle-East -12%
Those are generally upticks, especially Asia which was -7% in July, so maybe the story is the green shoots of a recovery but with resource prices still depressed, that's a dangerous bet.
