Volume in April down 12% from a strong 1Q
The CME is reporting that average daily trading volume increase 50% in April vs. the same period last year. The volume is 12% less than the 1st quarter results. However, the 1st quarter was influenced by major events like the ECB QE program announcement, surprise interest rate decisions and the SNB de-pegging.
Volatility is running 75% higher than 2Q 2014 levels as per a Deutsche bank measure of volatility.
