Communique to be released after the end of meetings on Saturday

Don't expect to have to use a ream of paper to print out the G7 communique at the conclusion of the meetings on Saturday. Last years tome, was 32 pages in length. According to sources, this years will come in at 6-8 pages.

The pared down version is being lauded as being a 'positive development' that allows focus.

Of course the brevity might have something to do with the divergent views on topics like climate and trade. The comments from members suggest that the section on climate change will include pledges by the G-7 nations sans the US. With Trump focused on his "America First" pledge, there is less agreement on trade that might limit the words.

Where the nations are in unity is on the fight against terrorism. Also the draft is expected to affirm sovereign rights to controlling their borders and net migration.
