Comments from the DUP leader
I'm confused by the DUP strategy in this saga. Border checks of any kind or checks in the Irish sea wouldn't be popular in Ireland.
I'm guessing this is part of a strategy to get some leverage for the Conservatives and get a deal through now. She may fear that if Conservatives get a larger majority in the next election, they won't need the DUP and may give Ireland a worse deal.
Either way, her party comes out looking worse.
