FRANKFURT (MNI) – The following is a press release from the
European Central Bank, stating that ECB President Mario Draghi welcomes
the agreement reached unanimously by the Ecofin on the Single
Supervisory Mechanism on Thursday.
ECB PRESIDENT MARIO DRAGHI WELCOMES THE AGREEMENT ON THE SSM
Mario Draghi, President of the European Central Bank (ECB),
welcomes the agreement on the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) reached
by the ECOFIN in unanimity.
The agreement marks an important step towards a stable economic and
monetary union, and towards further European integration.
Following a successful conclusion of the trialogue between the
European Parliament, the Council and the European Commission, and after
the adoption of the legal acts, the ECB will launch the preparations so
that the SSM can be established within the timeline foreseen by the
ECOFIN.
