- We must recognise that Europe can only play a global role when we work together in Europe, especially in euro zone

- Ofcourse there are problems but I can’t imagine an alternative to the euro; euro is not in danger
- Must use crisis to improve mechanisms so that stability is a duty of member countries
- Euro zone countries have made clear they will do everything to keep euro alive in currency form
- Ireland case is different to Greece
- Very unlikely that Spain will need help
- Must find a solution so taxpayers don’t cover crisis costs in future, but it’s not about current contracts
- Design of future crisis mechanism should be made clear as soon as possible to calm markets
