UK labour market report due later today

Comic 11-06

Good day, everyone! Hope you're all doing well as we look to get things going here in the session ahead. Markets are mostly in a steady state as we begin the day with currencies little changed overall. The yen is a little on the back foot amid stronger equities but USD/JPY still trades at same levels seen yesterday in Europe currently.

There will be some data points to move things along in the session ahead but market focus will still largely be on risk sentiment and chatter on possible Fed rate cuts but we'll likely only get more clues on the latter tomorrow (CPI data) and on Friday (retail sales data).

0630 GMT - Bank of France May industry sentiment indicator

Prior release can be found here. General sentiment indicator towards the French economy. Not a major release by any means.

0800 GMT - SNB total sight deposits w.e. 7 June

Your weekly check of the deposits kept at the SNB by Swiss banks. This data is a proxy for FX interventions.

0830 GMT - Eurozone June Sentix investor confidence survey

Prior release can be found here. General indication of investor sentiment towards the euro area economy, which has been improving as of late, but with global trade conditions still relatively messy I wouldn't expect confidence to dramatically return. A minor data point.

0830 GMT - UK April average weekly earnings

0830 GMT - UK April ILO unemployment rate

0830 GMT - UK May jobless claims change

Prior release can be found here. Wages data is expected to be slightly weaker but nothing too concerning after the uptick in recent months. General labour market conditions are expected to hold steady so the release here isn't going to offer much of anything new should it fall close to or within expectations.

1000 GMT - US May NFIB small business optimism index

Prior release can be found here. This is an index which measures the opinion of small businesses on the economic conditions in the country. A minor data point.

That's all for the session ahead. I wish you all the best of days to come and good luck with your trading!
