The European Commission is likely to put forward plans for a financial transaction tax in February. Its supported by France and Germany, but not the UK. EU states get blessing for financial trading tax
Some talk of a Senator and a Rep. also reintroducing plans for such a tax into Congress; its been previously rejected (I’ve no link for the US talk at present).
