Latest data released by Destatis - 8 June 2018

  • Prior €25.2 bn; revised to €24.7 bn
  • Current account balance €22.7 bn vs €20.0 bn expected
  • Prior €29.1 bn
  • Exports -0.3% vs -0.3% m/m expected
  • Prior +1.7%; revised to +1.8%
  • Imports +2.2% vs +0.6% m/m expected
  • Prior -0.9%; revised to -0.2%

The trade balance figures are more or less within expectations. Exports are weaker once again, but imports are showing a decent beat. That pretty much negates each other but I'd be worried about the exports slowdown if I were German authorities. Not much else to glean from the report.
