BERLIN (MNI) – Germany hopes that a stable government will emerge
from the Greek parliamentary elections this weekend, a government
spokesman said on Friday.

“We hope very much that we will see very quickly a stable
government there which is capable of acting,” spokesman Georg Streiter
said at a regular government press conference here.

Regarding the French presidential elections this weekend, where
polls signal a victory of the Socialist candidate Francois Hollande,
Streiter claimed that the German government “has never been afraid of
Hollande.”
