BERLIN (MNI) – The German government is very worried about the
outcome of the elections in Greece, German Deputy Foreign Minister
Michael Link said Wednesday.

“The very strong extremist forces are very worrying for us,” Link
said at a meeting of the European affairs committee of the German
parliament.

Greece needs to stick to the reform path agreed with its Eurozone
peers, the deputy minister stressed.

The change of power in France will not affect the German-Franco
relationship, said Link, who is responsible for German-French matters in
the foreign ministry.

Past experiences have shown that the German-French couple has
always worked well regardless who was in power in the two countries,
Link said. “Thus, we can be very relaxed about the change of power in
France,” the deputy minister said.
