The investment bank says that Asian equity markets can absorb the hikes given the "absolute level of policy rates is still low"

From a report by bank analysts

I am trying really hard to keep a straight face while posting this. Srsly. No. Open your eyes chaps.

At least they have a hedge:

  • "This assumes that the growth outlook remains robust and that policy increases are clearly signalled
  • If the Fed hikes more aggressively than inflation pressures suggest (increasing real rates more sharply) or surprises the market by failing to manage expectations, regional equities are likely to react more negatively."
