Hammond on what's next
There is increasing optimism that the post-Brexit trade deal won't be as bad as feared. The rhetoric from the EU has died down and more Brexit-watchers see a free trade deal, one that most-likely involved similar access to financial services.
Ultimately, the EU wants to send a message to the UK with some punishment but businesses in Europe and the UK are leaning on their governments to get something done they can work with.
