No matter how much traders try to keep emotions out of trading, psychologically we all have our favorite pairs to trade. Likewise there is always that pair that just always seems to go the other way. My hero has always been the NZD. It just behaves the way I think it should (nice of it eh?). On the other hand the CHF is my nemesis. It seems like no matter how much the technicals or fundamentals make sense, it just moves however it wishes. The peg has made it easier to trade, but for the years before it was just nasty to me. Consequently I rarely trade CHF crosses. I have to remind myself, “don’t touch that, its hot”. It is tempting to butt heads with the villain, and to me that is the harder urge to resist. True discipline indeed. So who are your heroes and who are your villains? Do you give the villains space or are you constantly butting heads?
