Japan's foreign minister Taro Kono has met with the two contenders for the UK prime Ministership, Hunt and Johsnon.
He emphasised the concern Japanese firms have over a hard Brexit
- "Whenever we had a meeting, that was one of the major issues - please... no no-deal Brexit
- There are over 1,000 Japanese companies operating in the United Kingdom so we are very concerned with this no-deal Brexit. That would have [a] very negative impact on their operations."
Japanese manufacturers with factories in the UK have already pulled back due to Brexit risks.
