Irish PM Varadkar speaking in parliament
- We're not at Brexit decision point just yet
- We have support from EU on border talks
- Brexit situation is rapidly evolving, changes on a daily basis
- There will be no need to use or threaten veto
- There's lots of progress on financial settlement
Cable not jumping on these comments. Not that we're all surprised, I presume. There's been a lot of Brexit talks over the last two days, but basically most people would agree that yesterday's talks/rumours were more promising than the official comments made today.
"Progress has been made, but not enough progress yet", according to Leo Varadkar
Update: Meanwhile, Northern Ireland's DUP's Diane Dodds came out with a statement here saying that Northern Ireland will leave the single market and customs union alongside Britain. And that Brexit must address challenges facing the border.
