If we are to hear any first words, it'll be through Twitter
Trump's Twitter feed is often times as erratic as the man himself, but that doesn't mean a pattern cannot be identified.
If you comb through his feed, you'd notice that more often than not there will be posts starting from 1100-1200 GMT if there is something to be commented on when the new day comes in the US. Yesterday's first round of tirade was posted at 1147 GMT.
The EU responded in kind to Trump's tariffs with their own threats here earlier in the day, and it was something that Trump warned against with his own threat over the weekend here:
If the E.U. wants to further increase their already massive tariffs and barriers on U.S. companies doing business there, we will simply apply a Tax on their Cars which freely pour into the U.S. They make it impossible for our cars (and more) to sell there. Big trade imbalance!

We're entering that timezone now, and even if you're not expecting something to come up from Trump in response to the EU, it wouldn't really hurt to be prepared for tweet a two to come in the next few hours - especially when the market is still making up its mind on trade concerns.
