According to reports from Italy
Italy deputy prime minister Matteo Salvini is said to be gunning for the role (currently occupied by Juncker) when it becomes available next summer i.e. October 2019. That'll certainly make things interesting although it's more than likely the spot will be occupied by a French or a German nationality at this point.
