Japnese media reports on disparate developments in Japan's coronavirus response

  • the current states of emergency in effect are being consider for an extension to the end of May or perhaps for another month
  • but restrictions imposed may ease, dept stores to be allowed longer trading hours, lifting restrictions on cinemas, amusement centres
