Sweden and Israel in the headlines
The flood of refugees from Syria continues into Europe and more cracks are emerging. Yesterday Germany reinstated rules that force refugees to claim asylum in the country where they land and said they may deport those who have come through other EU nations.
Today Sweden announced it was closing its borders. The government said more refugees than ever are coming over and they can no longer provide housing. The Home Affairs minister said the controls are initially for 10 days but can be extended for 20 days at a time.
Isreal, meanwhile, is upset after the EU introduced rules to label Israeli goods made in occupied territories. The AP reports Isreal is now suspending several 'diplomatic dialogues' with the EU.
