Thank you for all the wonderful responses to our news that the four of us have taken over control of ForexLive. We have all been very excited and have been at near bursting point recently trying not to let the cat out of the bag, as obviously it’s taken sometime to put all this together.

Our first important job was to decide what super important sounding titles we should all have. Everyone wants to be a Chief Vice President Chairman Super Managing Director of something but we haven’t got as far as what those “something” positions are. Any suggestions would be very welcome

;-)

We are sure you have many questions and thoughts about where ForexLive will go from here so we’ve knocked together a few FAQ’s which should give you an idea of where the team is currently focused, and give you a little idea about what we want to achieve. It’s early days yet and so we would like to ask for your continued patience as we put all the pieces of our new jigsaw together.

Q1. Are you going to be messing around with stuff?

A. No. Well, that’s a half truth. What we do now, we will continue to do, in the manner we do it. We’ll still be bringing you the news and analysis as quick as our little old fingers can type it. We’ve all got grand plans for the site but we know there’s crap that needs fixing pronto. We’re already working on fixing the site speed and the whole reader interaction process so you’ll hopefully see some vast improvements over the next few weeks. We still feel your pain on such things like the comments, being able to log in to post comments and interacting with other posters more easily. We’re on it and we want to get some of these little kinks ironed out as quick as we can.

Q2. I’m all excited too, so what are you going to give us?

A. We have short term aims, long term plans and a bunch of great ideas that fall somewhere in the middle, but one thing we want to strive for is what you guys and girls want. So let us know. We’ve asked previously and had an immense response (and still have the lists), which is testament to the great nature of the ForexLive community, and invaluable to us in terms of shaping the future. We can guarantee that we will be on the same page as you for the majority of things but you may just have an idea that we haven’t thought of or you may all suggest something that you feel is more important than we do. Don’t be shy, let us know.

There will be many things that we may look at. Collaborations, partnerships, tie ups, better education (Greg is a great start, we’re sure you’ll agree), forums, technology, the world is our oyster. What we will ensure is that everything we look at will be for the sole purpose of improving what we offer you in helping to guide you through the world of trading. We won’t be selling our souls to the devil at any point or price, so unless it brings you something worthwhile, we’ll not be jumping into bed with any old company or entity.

Q3. This all sounds like great news but how much is it going to cost me?

A. Zero! We love that we can do what we do for free. It’s the greatest price in the world. That doesn’t mean we have ruled out some form of subscription service down the line, but that will likely be for services and enhancements that will complement the backbone of the site, which is bringing you the news and analysis in the manner you are accustomed to, for free. Such things will be quite a ways down the line anyway. Our first mission is to make sure the site is running in tip top condition.

Q4. Will I be old and grey or bald before you do all this?

A. Some of us already are so we’re starting from a disadvantaged position already

;-)

Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither will our strategies for ForexLive be. We’ve appreciated your patience over the years and we ask for it for a little while longer. We hope to make some fairly quick changes and get the foundations solid before looking to the stars, and boy do we have some stratospherical plans.

Q5. How can I get involved?

A. Simple! Keep coming to ForexLive and engaging with us and each other. That’s the backbone of the site and what makes it tick. Tell your friends and spread the word. It’s no secret that we have ads on the site and that they help pay bills. If there is one wish we would have is that if possible, please don’t ad block us. We try our best to make sure ads aren’t imposing, especially with pop ups and the like but understand this can have an effect on site speed, which we are looking to remedy anyway. We do rely on ads so if you can help to that extent, that would be fabulous.

Further out we may look at presenting investment opportunities. Exciting times are coming and we may look at external funding for some of them. Who better to have a chance at helping the site grow than the readers? Stay tuned.

Q6. Ok, sounds good, but where’s the flipping mug you promised me months ago?

A. As silly as it might sound we’ve have all had a long standing guilt complex over the fact that we’ve offered prizes and haven’t got them out to those who won them. It’s been something out of our control for a while but now we’re in the drivers seat it’s very much something we are going to rectify. Again, your patience may be needed for a little while longer but we’ve got the list of people who are all due something and will double check that, and make good on your awards.

So there you have it. It’s hard to try and cover everything without getting into deep and in depth conversation so we hope that this post answers some of your questions. We are always open to suggestions and you can let us know your ideas anytime you like.We will aim to keep you informed as much as possible over future plans as your input is the most valuable commodity we have.

Once again thank you for your kind words and support, we couldn’t do this without you.

MARGE – (Mike, Adam, Ryan, Greg, Eamonn) the ForexLive team
