- expected 4.3bn, prior was 4.13bn, revised from 4.17bn
Imports, 4.01 bn
- expected 4.30bn, prior was 3.95bn, revised from 4.04bn

- A much better trade balance for May, a surplus as opposed to the expected deficit.
- Exports came in higher than expected, but note the small downward revision to the April export number
- Imports came in lower, and the prior month's was revised lower as well. this will give the doubters on the NZ economy some cheer.
