Here is a preview of the nonfarm payroll report due in the US on Thursday (2 July 2015) morning
Its from the Wall Street Journal in their '5 things to watch format'
I have a short attention span, so that's about 3 things too many for me, but still...
In brief, but the full article is not gated if you want to read it:
1. U.S. employment has increased for 56 straight months!
2. Wages grew faster in May from a year earlier than they have in almost two years, a sign that worker pay may finally be starting to pick up.
3. One weak spot in an otherwise strong report last month was a broader measure of unemployment, known in economic circles as the U-6.
4. The health-care industry added 47,000 jobs in May... As Obamacare takes full effect, observers will watch if the sector remains a jobs engine.
5. Average workweek has held fairly steady at around 34.5 hours over the past year. That suggests employers are opting to add new workers rather than ask current staff to work longer hours.
