What was the news from Greece on Saturday?
Very little.
The lack of news from Greece is a great sign for a deal. If politicians were bickering in public the same way they have been every day for months, then it would be a sign of trouble. It could all blow up and the blame game could restart tomorrow but the news so far is nearly nil.
Bloomberg writes about the 'quiet diplomacy' that's ongoing.
Minister of State Nikos Pappas told Ethnos newspaper that the government "was working toward a solution."
Varoufakis also struck a constructive tone in a guest commentary in FAS. He said Greece was willing to compromise if Merkel sends a signal. He said she has a chance to enter an 'honorable agreement'.
