The unprecedented economic crisis has to be dealt with quickly, Obama says while calling for reform to the TARP program. He says there are difference still to be worked out with Congress regarding the stimulus package and made note of a critical CBO report on the House stimulus bill.
If Obama strips Congressional pork out of the package he will be greeted as a hero by the center and right of the Us political spectrum, giving him lots of early political momentum.
