Obama speaks after the latest rejections
- Pipeline would not make a meaningful long term contribution to the economy
- Congress should pass serious infrastructure plan to keep jobs coming
- Pipeline wouldn't have lower pump prices (then goes on to point out current prices)
- Shipping dirtier oil into US would not increase energy security
Earlier this week the Canadian pipline builders, TransCanada asked the US government to suspend this review as politcal problems grew on both sides. That obviously hasn't worked
We reached out to Canadian expert Adam Button but he was too busy spitting feathers to respond. We can try again on Monday ;-)
