Mexico City shaking, thousands in streets
Breaking story
The USGS says it was a 7.4 magnitude earthquake in the south of Mexico that was felt in the capital but that was revised to 7.1.
A magnitude 8.0 earthquake hit Mexico City in 1985, killing at least 5,000 people.
The epicenter of this event appears closer to Puebla, which is a city of 3 million people. Scanning the news, it appears as though there was some destruction, but nothing widespread or devastating.
