UK PM David Cameron has previously stated that he would hold a referendum on EU membership by 2017 but there is momentum building for it to be held next year.
Not least of which from himself as I reported here last week but now Labour Party leadership contender Andy Burnham has this morning also urged him to bring it forward to 2016
Speaking on BBC tv he said that
"A period of uncertainty was the worst of all worlds for business"
adding that the EU referendum was only winnable if there was a credible package of reforms on immigration otherwise " we'll be sleepwalking to an exit of the EU"
The BBC has more here including Burnham's thoughts on how the Labour Party needs to learn from its election disaster
