  • Reuters Tankan: Japan manufacturers index +7 in October vs +9 in September ... matching the low hit in May 2013
  • Japan non-manufacturers index +27 in October vs +23 in September ... is seen falling to 24 in January
  • Japan manufacturers January index seen unchanged, non-manufacturers +24
  • Manufacturing confidence worsened for the second straight month
  • Service-sector sentiment bounced from the prior month's fall
  • Reuters Tankan poll of 515 big and mid-sized companies between September 30 & October 9 (268 responses)
  • Cites sluggish domestic demand, China and emerging markets slowdown

A mixed data point for Japan, manufacturing down but non-manufacturing improvement. Yen not much of a response.
