–Says EU Actions On Econ, Financial System Have Been Convincing
LONDON (MNI) – Confidence has been restored in the EU economy
and growth is back on track, EU President Herman Van Rompuy declared
today at the start of a one-day EU summit.
Van Rompuy made the comments at the start of the meeting today in
Brussels broadcast on the ‘Europa’ website.
“Before the summer we dealt with the financial crisis. The result
has been convincing. Confidence has been restored, economic growth is
back on track.”
“Reinforced banking regulations will soon be in place. However,
more needs to be done to safeguard growth and jobs. For one thing we
must make our economies crisis proof.”
