All of a sudden, Rory Stewart looks to potentially be the main man to make it to the final two in order to challenge Boris Johnson

Rory Stewart

Stewart gained a total of 18 votes from the first round of voting to the second, the most by any candidate and that includes Boris Johnson - who only had an additional 12 votes. Stewart also boasted his position further this morning saying that quite a number of MPs who backed Dominic Raab - who dropped out yesterday - will now be backing him instead.

The latest headline suggests that we could see a combined effort by the remaining candidates in order to try and topple Boris in the final ballot but given the amount of backing Boris has at the amount, it's still a monumental task.

But you can never say never when it comes to anything related to politics. That's how we ended up here in the first place.
