Several clashes have broken out today as the Ukraine disposes its military to retake buildings in pro-Russia areas. At least militants have been killed but details are murky.
Russia is upset with the Ukraine using the military against its own civilians, particularly ethnic Russians and Russian speakers. Interfax reports comments from the Russian defense ministry saying it’s starting military drills in response to the escalation in the Ukraine. They also blame NATO exercises in Eastern Europe.
The market has paid little heed to the situation in Ukraine this week but I suspect we’re getting closer to the point where fear kicks in.
