Highlights of the September 2015 US trade balance data report 4 November 2015
- Prior -48.33bn. Revised to -48.02bn
- Exports +1.6% vs -2.0% prior
- Imports -1.8% vs +1.0% prior
Exports to Japan took a sizeable spill (-13.8% vs _2.2% prior). OPEC exports grew 18.8% vs -9.4% in Aug. Europe was busy buying as exports rose 7.7%, and we see an increase with China, +2.8% vs -3.5% prior
Imports from OPEC also grew 10.2% vs -24.7% prior
The reduction in the deficit is good on it's own but there's good news looking at global traffic
USDJPY pushes up to 121.36. GBPUSD suffers as it carry's on the drop from ADP to a low of 1.5394. EURUSD edges it's way towards 1.0900 with a low of 1.0908
