S&P closes above its 100 day MA and 2018 midpoint

Solid gains for the major indices

The major US stock indices closing with solid gains.

For the broad-based S&P index, it is closing above its 100 day MA at 2706 and the 50% midpoint of the 2018 trading range at 2702. The low today bottomed at 2704 between those two key technical levels, and moved higher.

• The S&P index is closing at 2723.06, up 25.27 points or 0.94%
• The NASDAQ rose 65.07 points or 0.89% at 7404.97
• The Dow 197 Points or 0.80% at 24739.

After the close, Nvidia, Dropbox and Yelp will report.

A good day for the major indices and the break higher in the S&P gives the buyers the upper hand once again.
