RINO (Republican in name only) senator Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania says he will run for re-election as a Democrat. Presumably he will caucus with the Dems in the interim, giving them the 60 votes they need to break any filibuster. This could allow politically unpopular policies like cap and trade to pass.
The dollar is easing modestly, now at 1.3065 and 96.47.
