So says Johann Schneider-Amman in parliament today

The debate was on accusations that the SNB's policies are causing job losses

If the National Bank had to give up its independence because politicians can no longer trust it then it would be one of the gravest mistakes a free economy can make.

Schneider-Amman, the president for 2016, has been trade minister and a Federal Council member since 2010, representing the liberal Free Democratic Party. His family owns the Ammann Group mechanical engineering company, and he has a background in business.

He also said that the current CHF fx rate is halfway toward purchasing power parity.

Tomorrow the SNB meet for their quarterly policy meeting. No changes expected but we shall look at any changes in rhetoric/tone.
