September 28, 2016. The USD is the strongest. The NZD is the weakest.

A snapshot of the strongest and weakest currencies is showing that the USD is the strongest while the NZD is the weakest. Honestly, most of the activity is in the NZD today with the currency heading lower against all the major currency pairs. The NZDUSD is the weakest - falling 0.70% on the day.

The selling the NZDUSD was from the start. After trading sideways for the NY session, and moving above and the below the 50% midpoint line at 0.72933 (see chart below), the break away helped to ignite a move lower that saw the pair sell and sell and sell. The fall stalled above swing lows from mid-September and in the middle of the consolidation area from Friday/Monday's trading.

Looking at the ranges and changes, it shows that all the major pairs are below their 22- day averages. The the NZDUSD got the closest to what is average. Even still, it is short of the line. There is news in the form of Durable goods at 8;30 AM ET. Perhaps it helps give the major pairs more of a nudge.
