Daily thread to exchange ideas and to share your thoughts
Happy Monday, everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend and that you're all prepped for the new trading week. It's been a quiet start to the session so far with currencies showing little poise to really break out today.
The pound is gaining some ground while the franc is holding a little weaker but besides that, there isn't much activity despite a relief rally in risk seen in equities and bonds.
There isn't much else driving trading sentiment to start the week so look towards changes in risk sentiment as the key factor for now. But as we get towards the Jackson Hole symposium later in the week, expect the focus to shift towards central banks again.
I reckon that's when we'll see the action start to pick up this week ahead of key central bank meetings in September.
