Showing improvement. Off peaks
The trends in the ISM data show improvement but components remain off the highs seem over the last year. The ISM index peaked in the last year at the 58.1 level. The low was at 51.5. Today's 52.8 reading was the 3rd lowest this year.
Employment came in at 51.7 this month off the low of 48.3 last month. The high for the year peaked at 57.4.
New orders had a high for the year at 63.9. The low came in at 51.8.
So although it is good news for manufacturing, the momentum and overall strength is still to be determined.
