Turkish president Erdogan comments on the death of Khashoggi
- Questions "who ordered those 15 persons to gather in Istanbul?"
- Asks why is it that Saudi's statements have been inconsistent
- No one should expect the case to be closed without answers
- Says that scapegoating a few officials won't satisfy any one
- Has no doubt about sincerity of Saudi king
- But says that those giving orders for the murder must be taken to account
Erdogan basically stating his view that Jamal Khashoggi's death is a planned murder and not the result of a "commotion". Earlier in the day, Trump labelled it as a "death plot gone awry".
This will only add further mounting pressures on Saudi Arabia as international pressures begin to intensify.
